ALISON VANDERPOOL

Alison is trained as a Blind Rehabilitation Specialist with an M.S.Ed. in Special Education from Northern Illinois University, certified as a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) from the Academy of Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals (ACVREP). She also has experience teaching many types of assistive technology with a variety of learners.

Alison worked for the Western Blind Rehabilitation Center at the VA Palo Alto in Menlo Park, CA, from 2015-2018, as a computer instructor, living skills instructor, and acted as the Technology Coordinator on the Leadership Team. Alison’s more recent professional experience is working as a case manager and supervisor for organizations for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Alison is currently employed full time with The Workshop in Galena as the Program Supervisor and also works at 2 restaurants on the weekends.
